The Les Paul is an unmistakable icon of rock and roll history. Designed by the Jazz guitarist Les Paul, it was one of the very early versions of the electric guitar. After a few refinements on the original, it hit the market in 1952 and has remained almost unchanged since. Some things are just done right the first time.

The Gibson custom shop go to incredible lengths to ensure that the guitar you buy is as close to an original 1958 Les Paul as it can be. Traditional methods like hand scraped binding, hot hide glue neck joints and period correct dyes are used to give you something as close to a real vintage Les Paul as possible without having to be a millionaire. 

This '60 reissue is as close to a real 1960 Gibson Les Paul you can get without having to sell a house. The flames are very tasteful, providing enough pattern to make things interesting but not so much that it looks to flashy. The burst is free from any over bearing reds that can lead to a 'clown burst' top. It's just perfect! 

The neck is slimmer than the usual R8/R9 profile but is in now way 'skinny'. It's really a joy to play, sitting somwhere between a 50s and 60s shape, it feels just right. 

At 9.04lbs it's mahogany body and maple cap provided the basis for classic Les Paul sustain and depth. The humbuckers have all the P.A.F clarity and rich 3D tone you'd hope for. It really is a stunning example of a Les Paul. It comes complete with original documents and lifton Hardcase.
