The Les Paul is an unmistakable icon of rock and roll history. Designed by the Jazz guitarist Les Paul, it was one of the very early versions of the electric guitar. After a few refinements on the original, it hit the market in 1952 and has remained almost unchanged since. Some things are just done right the first time.
The Gibson custom shop go to incredible lengths to ensure that the guitar you buy is as close to an original 1958 Les Paul as it can be. Traditional methods like hand scraped binding, hot hide glue neck joints and period correct dyes are used to give you something as close to a real vintage Les Paul as possible without having to be a millionaire.
This 2017 version is a case queen. It's been really well looked after and has barely been played. There are no chips or dings at all! It's 8.79lbs which is decent for a Les Paul and plays and sounds incredible.
The plain top is incredibly tasteful and makes a nice change from the bling flames that are everywhere. The burst looks really nice, just enough red to make it interesting without looking over the top.
All round a stunning example of an R8 and it comes with all it's documents and original brown hard case.
