The Gibson J-45 AG 2018 Walnut Burst is a 6-string electro acoustic guitar featuring a spruce top, a walnut body, a mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard and an walnut burst finish. This new J-45 AG for 2018 features a round-shouldered dreadnought cutaway body shape that can be driven by a hard pick attack, delivering rich, deep tones, capable of handling lead-line picking too.

The J-45 AG is built with an attractive sitka spruce top, producing a broad dynamic range and crisp articulation, projecting a sparkling high response and tight, clear attack. Resonating well whilst remaining strong and focused, this guitar offers a clear sound with deep lows, warm midi-range and bright sparkling highs. Walnut back and sides offer a warm, earthy sound with the overtone depth of rosewood and the clarity of mahogany.

The J-45 AG's mahogany neck delivers plenty of resonance with superb durability, whilst a comfortable Advanced Response profile enables a snappier attack in the mid-range with a punchy edge when driven with a hard pick attack. Topped with a rosewood fingerboard that offers a smooth and energetic playing experience and a warm, bright sparkling-sizzle, this neck provides stability and a sonic warmth.

Equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element Pickup featuring a low-profile undersaddle pickup and an unobtrusive and removable volume/tone control mounted just inside the soundhole, this guitar delivers a robust, lively, and natural acoustic sound with excellent dynamics and delicate high end. The Element works with a standard 9V battery, which is housed inside the guitar.
