Tokai Love Rock Japan 2003 Goldtop
Starting out by making direct copies of Fender and Gibson guitars in the 80s (and subsequently getting sued) Tokai aren't strangers to the idea of making similar guitars to other big brands but at a fraction of the cost and as many people say, parallel quality.
Tokai Love Rocks are brilliant guitars. Similar aesthetics, sustain and tone of their Gibson counterpart but a lot cheaper. Made in japan in 2003, this Love Rock has a mahogany body and a maple cap, finished in that classic 50's metallic gold colour. It's back and sides are natural, very similar to a vintage version and the rosewood board has a lovely grain.
It's an awesome sounding guitar. Tokai's own 'Vintage P.A.F MKII' pickups give you all the classic humbucker sounds and that wonderful singing sustain. It really is as good as any other Les Paul out there!
It's got a lovely 50's neck that's not massive but not as skinny as a 60s style neck. It's just been fret dressed, set up and restrung so plays like a dream. Comes with a Stagg hard case for extra protection.
Thanks for looking!
